Job Summary:

Develop and create MB SPACE designs based on restaurant demand data using integrated merchandising/space planning software. Manage and optimize new and existing restaurant chamber space by creating SPACE design solutions that reflect the agreed planning principles. Drive profitability through cost-effective and optimized SPACE design solutions that mitigate and remove delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and development of required zoning and planograms that deliver the MB SPACE principles for new and existing restaurants
  2. Liaise and communicate with all key project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of right-first-time designs
  3. Seek opportunities to maximize the potential of every scheme within agreed principles and cost
  4. Develop a planning standards model that documents and illustrates best-in-class designs and pressure tests the status quo
  5. Develop a deep understanding of the space, equipment, and function of each chamber to ensure you are the subject matter expert
  6. Stress test all data to ensure schemes are fit for purpose and future-proofed leading to optimized delivery schedules
  7. Assess ROI opportunities for delivery optimization - is the benefit greater than the cost
  8. Ensure all schemes are health and safety compliant and meet all of the client's operational needs
  9. Maintain product database to ensure 100% product accuracy, including weight and dimensions
  10. Creation and maintenance of site space and capacity database to ensure that each site is being reviewed and upgraded inline with business requirements
  11. Build strong and robust relationships with key team members within RSP, TECH, and RSM community to generate an aligned approach to space management

  1. Field - Restaurant operations teams
  2. Field - Franchisees
  3. Central - Service, RSP, Scheduling, Strategy
  4. External - MCD construction
  5. External - fixture suppliers

Essential Knowledge, Education, Skills, and Experience:

  1. Formal qualification in AutoCAD or similar technical drawing experience
  2. 3 years of experience in design and drafting of macro and micro space plans
  3. Competent in the use of all systems required to format and deliver accurate site-specific design packs
  4. Understanding of site characteristics and challenges
  5. Understanding and knowledge of use and assembly of merchandising fixtures and fittings
  6. Knowledge of site operations

  8. Confident and comfortable to challenge the status quo and question whether changes should be developed and implemented
  9. Proven ability in developing effective working relationships across all levels of the organization

  11. Effective and persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to present complex information in an understandable manner to all areas of the business
  12. Sound judgment and strong integrity
  13. Trustworthy and able to operate independently and manage own time effectively
