Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Configuration Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing configuration management and release activities for the Dreadnought program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain configuration management plans and processes
  • Lead the configuration management team and ensure that configuration management activities are discharged in accordance with the plan
  • Manage the release of and delivery of products to both internal and external customers
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify their configuration management and reporting requirements
  • Lead configuration audit activities (i.e. FCA/PCA)

Requirements:

Essential

  • Degree qualified (RQF Level 6/SCQF Level 9) or equivalent experience in a technology, engineering or science related discipline
  • Registered as CEng (or can demonstrate eligibility and commitment to register for CEng within 12 months of appointment)
  • Member of a Professional Engineering Institute recognised by the Engineering Council

Desirable

  • CM2 certified
  • Experience of configuration and release management in a regulated industry (such as defence, aerospace, rail, oil & gas, nuclear or automotive)

About the Role:

This is a new capability within the business, and you will be part of a team that will significantly influence the direction the team takes. You will be involved in defining, establishing, approving, and maintaining the configuration and release management processes for software products and supporting artefacts for the Dreadnought program with the support of a team of engineers. This role also provides opportunities which include maintaining continuous professional development and supported learning.
