Job Description

G R Carr (Essex) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team in the Fabrication Shop in Basildon and sites in the Essex / London area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and fully understand weld procedures to ensure high-quality work.
  • Pass performance proving weld tests in accordance with applicable codes and procedures.

Welding Operations:

  • Perform welding operations in the Fabrication Shop and on-site to lines and tanks in service.
  • Fill out and return welding consumable requisitions.
  • Ensure all welding tools and equipment are in safe working order.
  • Carry out daily routine maintenance checks on all welding plant and equipment.

Teamwork and Safety:

  • Work as an integral part of a team, assisting other trades in carrying out their duties in a diligent and safe manner.
  • Maintain timekeeping in line with specific site regulations.
  • Work within the confines of the Company's health, safety, and environmental policies and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Have a positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • CSCS/CCNSG certification is required.

Working Conditions:

  • 8 hour shifts, 10 hour shifts, 12 hour shifts, and weekends available depending on site requirements.
  • 28 days holiday, including Bank/Public Holidays.
  • Contract-specific overtime available.

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience as a Welder is preferred.
