About the Role

Glasgow Science Centre is seeking a highly skilled Media and Communications Officer to join our team. As a key member of our marketing department, you will be responsible for delivering our media and public relations activities, increasing the profile of the organisation across various communications channels, and managing our corporate communications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective media and public relations strategies to raise the profile of the organisation.
  2. Produce engaging content for multiple channels, including social media, email newsletters, and press releases.
  3. Manage our stakeholder strategy, including building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and media contacts.
  4. Lead the delivery of our corporate communications, including social media, email newsletters, and press releases.
  5. Work closely with leadership and senior management to ensure alignment with the organisation's strategic plan.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a relevant degree-level qualification and a proven track record in public relations and media relations. You will have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, as well as excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills.

You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong understanding of the charity and tourism sectors. You will also have a strong understanding of social media platforms and be able to develop and implement effective social media strategies.
