About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAMHS Practitioner to join our team in Southwark CAMHS referrals team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for processing referrals, conducting initial psychosocial assessments, and working with children, young people, and their families to develop and implement care plans.

Main Responsibilities
  • Process new referrals and conduct initial psychosocial assessments
  • Work with children, young people, and their families to develop and implement care plans
  • Liaise with referrers, including GPs, schools, and social workers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to identify the right care pathways for children and young people
  • Supervise junior staff and participate in own supervision

Requirements
  • First-level nursing qualification or equivalent with related CAMHS experience
  • Post-registration clinical professional development, including CYP-IAPT postgraduate training
  • Sufficient post-graduation experience in working within a mental health setting
  • Assessed supervised clinical experience working with children and adolescents with mental health problems
Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Good written and verbal presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good working knowledge of mental health disorders in children and adolescents
  • Assessment of risk and management of risk factors
