About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-focused pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and accurately dispense prescriptions and requests for medication
- Participate in stock supply to wards and departments and re-order as necessary
- Receive goods into the department, unpack, check and put away deliveries against relevant paperwork
- Participate in the induction and training of staff
Requirements
- GCSE grade C/4 or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
- NVQ level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF), BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science
- Accredited Dispensing Assistants Course (NPA)
- Post NVQ level 2 qualification developmental experience of a range of dispensing with formal training and annual revalidated accreditation as a dispenser
- Understanding of pharmacy related computer systems
- Understanding of Health and Safety at Work, manual handling and COSHH
- Understanding of dispensing, stock control and supply systems and processes
- Knowledge of stock control systems
- Knowledge of code of practice/customer care
- Ability to work to set procedures
- Ability to take responsibility for own work and actions and contribute to the team success
