About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Pioneer Selection. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our safety management system, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive safety management system, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead the Safety Steering Committee, providing clear direction and leadership for safety sub-committees.
  • Provide specialist health and safety knowledge and support to all personnel, ensuring a proactive health and safety environment.
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of comprehensive safety training programs, ensuring all employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely.
  • Work with our global sites to share best practices and implement safety visions aligned with company policies.
  • Develop systems to encourage personal ownership of safety, ensuring both personal and process safety performance remains flawless.
  • Take charge of high-risk employee management, scenario training, and hazard/operability studies on critical processes.
  • Regularly audit work areas, engaging directly with employees to understand and mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage incident/accident investigations, ensuring safety reports are compiled, shared, and used to inform future prevention measures.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in health and safety management, with a deep understanding of safety legislation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to promote an interdependent and accountable safety culture.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess safety data and drive continuous improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for engaging and motivating teams.
