Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a legal professional to become a part of the Property Legal Team. As a Property Lawyer, your primary focus will be on delivering expert legal counsel and support in managing the extensive property assets of the Council, along with addressing Landlord and Tenant matters.

The responsibilities within the property legal team are diverse, allowing you to engage in significant regeneration initiatives throughout Buckinghamshire. Your contributions will directly influence the local community, as you provide essential property legal guidance to both Officers and Members.

Compensation: The salary for this position is commensurate with experience. We have a full-time position available, but we are open to considering part-time applications. Please note that part-time salaries will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Role Responsibilities

We are in search of qualified legal professionals who thrive in collaborative environments, offering proactive, innovative, and client-centered legal advice to support the execution of multi-disciplinary, high-profile projects.

We are looking to recruit one Property Lawyer for a fixed-term contract of two years.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with the necessary experience to provide legal counsel to the client team managing the Council's extensive property portfolio. Your duties will include handling property transactions, commercial and agricultural leases, and property management documentation, as well as participating in meetings with key clients and stakeholders. The Council is also planning to implement regeneration projects within Buckinghamshire, and the successful candidate will provide property legal advice related to these initiatives, collaborating closely with colleagues across both the legal and client departments.

Experience in property litigation is preferred, as you may be called upon to advise on contentious property issues.

Working Environment:

As an 'any-desk' worker, you will need to connect to our network to access digital resources, which can be done from home or an office location as required. You will be expected to work from the office a few times a week, depending on your role and team needs.

Candidate Profile

We welcome applications from Solicitors, Barristers, and Legal Executives with relevant experience in property law, whether gained in the public or private sector. You should be highly motivated and proactive, with a solid understanding of property law. Your experience, knowledge, and exceptional drafting skills will be crucial, along with your ability to provide sound legal advice. You will be a collaborative team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, actively engaging and supporting your colleagues.
