Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Duties:
    • Setting up and packing away dining and service areas, including setting up/packing away dining furniture
    • Preparing food and beverages
    • Serving food and beverages
    • Carrying out cashier duties during service
    • Cleaning the kitchen and dining room, and associated furniture/equipment pre/post/during service
  • Managerial Responsibilities:
    • Leading, developing, coaching, training, and motivating the team
    • Being the first point of contact for the school for catering services
    • Supporting control of the catering operation, including stock, food, and labor costs
    • Ensuring consistency of food and service standards delivered to students and staff
    • Managing and improving all controllable costs
    • Maintaining company systems, procedures, and legislation
    • Carrying out regular audits to ensure standards are being met where required
    • Attending monthly meetings with the school, Local Authority, and Dalkia teams

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a commercial catering environment
  • Previous experience supervising/leading a team
  • The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check
  • COSHH Training
  • Understanding of safe working practices and health and safety legislation
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations/HACCP
  • Basic IT competence, including the use of Excel, Outlook
