Position Overview: As a Senior Indirect Tax Specialist at The Sherwin-Williams Company, you will take charge of the VAT preparation and submission processes. Your responsibilities will include generating tax registers and sales reports, verifying data accuracy, auditing invoices, and making necessary adjustments to ensure timely and precise VAT filings.
Work Environment: This role is based in a hybrid model, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work. It is well-suited for professionals with a background in International or European Taxation, seeking to advance their careers within a globally recognized leader in the paint and coatings industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the VAT preparation and submission for assigned entities, ensuring all processes are executed accurately and on schedule.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of Intrastat and EC Sales lists, including data analysis and report submission to relevant authorities.
- Contribute to the onboarding of new entities within the Indirect Tax Group, facilitating the mapping and transition of current activities.
- Support the implementation of new Indirect Tax systems, such as OneSource and Making Taxes Digital for VAT.
- Stay informed on developments in Indirect Taxation, including legal changes and court rulings, and provide recommendations for compliance.
- Address inquiries from the business regarding VAT regulations and ensure adherence to departmental policies.
Qualifications:
- Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, AAT, etc.)
- Fluency in English and proficiency in one or more major European languages.
- Desire to further develop expertise in Taxation.
- Able to perform under pressure, meeting strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel (including Macros, Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle 11i and 12.
- Understanding of fundamental VAT principles and compliance requirements.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
- Strong organizational awareness.
