Job Title: Tandem System Specialist

Contract Duration: 6-12 month contract

Working Mode: Hybrid (once a week in-office)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the integration and operation of the HP NonStop Tandem platform within the organizational framework.
  • Engage in the support and management of application deployments across testing, pre-production, and production environments.
  • Deliver second and third-level support to Production Operations and internal/external business stakeholders.
  • Conduct installation and testing of new releases/products including IBM MQ, Python, NonStop Webserver, and Batch definitions.
  • Manage NonStop security protocols.
  • Administer databases (SQL/MP and SQL/MX).
  • Oversee storage management tasks.
  • Analyze system and application performance metrics.
  • Manage NonStop network operations.
  • Contribute to significant projects (e.g., Stilton ORT DC 22 SCF).
  • Provide training for newcomers on Tandem technologies.
  • Execute capacity management and performance assessments.

Additional Information:

This role includes Watch Duty On Call support outside of standard business hours on a rotational basis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a Master's degree in Mathematics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a NonStop environment.
  • Strong understanding of System Administration and Network Guardian & OSS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: TACL, Python, YAML, Shell Script.
  • Extensive knowledge of NonStop infrastructure and tools such as RDF, TMF, SCF, Pathway, Safeguard, DSM, SCM, MQ Series, SQL & SQL/MX, XMA, XUA, XCM, SSH, COM, ODBC, ITP Web.
  • Deep expertise in performance analysis (e.g., Measure SQL explain plan).
  • Familiarity with JAVA is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn ICT technologies and share knowledge effectively.
  • Adaptability to new technologies, procedures, and circumstances.
  • Ability to remain constructive and stress-resistant in various contexts.
  • Attention to detail and compliance with existing standards.
