Job Summary

STERIS is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Operative to join our team in Syston, Leicester. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective production of our products, adhering to high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate production machinery to produce a range of products on various machinery.
  • Perform manual packing and boxing activities, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Conduct product inspections, documenting any defects or issues.
  • Perform safety checks on forklift trucks and operate them safely.
  • Use the company's ERP system to perform stock transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in 6S activities, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Use mechanical aids, such as manual and powered pallet trucks, safely and efficiently.
  • Understand and adhere to the organization's Quality Assurance systems, taking responsibility for updating processes as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing programs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete quality documentation.
  • Initiative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office and manufacturing programs.
  • FLT License.
