We are pleased to announce a new opportunity for a seasoned Audit professional to join a prestigious utilities organization.
The Audit Operations Manager will be tasked with supervising and directing the internal audit activities across a consortium of companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering independent assurance to the Board and Audit Committee regarding the effectiveness of the control environment within the group, thereby enhancing confidence in compliance with various regulations.
- Offering management objective evaluations, comprehensive insights, and recommendations concerning critical risk areas to alleviate immediate operational risks and long-term strategic threats.
- The role will focus on driving performance enhancements through the provision of a high-quality internal audit service.
Specific Duties Include:
- Crafting a dynamic annual audit strategy, employing a risk-based audit approach while considering risks or control issues identified by management, and presenting this strategy to the Audit Committee for endorsement.
- Actively engaging as a consultant to the Board and Audit Committees on the outcomes of audit service initiatives.
- Collaborating closely with key management committees throughout the organization, providing expert advice on risk and control, and fostering constructive relationships to effectively address risk and control challenges.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance business performance by pinpointing areas within business processes that can be improved or refined to deliver added value.
Qualifications Required:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline OR substantial relevant experience in Internal Audit.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in internal auditing.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity within the internal audit sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of internal audit standards, principles, and practices.
- Expertise in risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance matters.
- Proficiency in audit software and tools.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate complex information and formulate actionable recommendations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills to effectively address and mitigate risks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly to senior management and the Audit Committee.
- Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintain relationships across all organizational levels.
- High integrity and ethical standards.
- Commitment to fostering ethical conduct and sound governance within the organization.
