Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily administration of client accounts, including but not limited to:
- Preparation of self-employed and partnership accounts
- Filing personal and partnership tax returns, including for high-net-worth clients
- Preparation of statutory accounts (primarily FRS105 and FRS 102(1a), with some IFRS for UK subsidiaries of international firms)
- Corporate tax return submissions
- Conducting quarterly VAT reviews and producing in-year management accounts
- Engaging in tax planning and business development strategies related to the above tasks
- Supervising junior staff and aiding in their professional growth
- Overseeing client workflow and staff management systems to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Reporting to the director group on practice administration issues
- Promoting the practice and networking with clients, prospects, and intermediaries
- Collaborating with colleagues in our financial planning division to provide integrated wealth management advice
- Utilizing initiative to resolve challenges as they arise.
Qualifications Required:
- At least 4 to 5 years of practice experience, including the qualification period, preferably in a general practice setting.
- Familiarity with Iris, Sage 50, Sage Online, QuickBooks Cloud, Xero, Dext, and Excel is advantageous, though training will be provided as necessary.
- Ability to demonstrate current knowledge of tax legislation.
- Strong IT skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confident demeanor, capable of engaging with a variety of clients and colleagues.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong numerical aptitude.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A collaborative team player.
- Minimum GCSEs of C or above in Maths and English, with strong results at GCSE and A-level (a degree is not mandatory).
- Valid driving license.
- Willingness to work across multiple offices with a diverse client portfolio.
