About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Head of Humanities. As a key member of our academic leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of staff, including heads of geography, history, and religious education.

Your primary focus will be on planning and delivering challenging and engaging lessons that instill a passion for learning in our students. You will also be expected to teach a high percentage of A-level geography and have the opportunity to coach/mentor staff and work with other heads of humanities across the network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans to meet the needs of our students
  • Coach and mentor staff to improve their teaching and learning practices
  • Work collaboratively with other heads of humanities to share best practices and improve student outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of our school's curriculum and educational programs
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of staff
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and implementation
  • Excellent teaching and learning skills, with a focus on geography and A-level education
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff to improve their teaching and learning practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
