A challenging and rewarding Senior Accountant position has become available within our dynamic and forward-thinking Accountancy Practice.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a team of experienced and junior staff, reviewing work completed by team members, and overseeing the delivery of our bespoke solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 6 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Review and approve work performed by team members, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular appraisals and provide feedback to the director team, contributing to the growth and development of the team.
- Manage the workflow and portfolio of bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Liaise with other departments to support year-end work, corporation tax, personal tax, and audits.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of clients, providing management accounts, VAT returns, and attending client board meetings to offer expert advice.
- Stay up-to-date with complex VAT areas, including retail schemes, partial exemption, margin schemes, group VAT, duty, and export rules.
- Collaborate with the outsourcing team to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services.
- Explore and implement innovative technologies, such as AI, to improve processes and enhance client experience.

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Accountancy professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess:
- AAT Qualified or ACCA Part-Qualified / ACCA / ACA Qualified.
- Background within Accountancy Practice (c.5+ years).
- Experience in Bookkeeping, Management Accounts, and working with SME and Owner-Managed businesses.
- Good working knowledge of Xero and other online/cloud accounting software.
