Exciting Opportunity for a Modern Apprentice Assistant Management Accountant

The State Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our finance team as a Modern Apprentice Assistant Management Accountant. This 2-year programme offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in accounting, finance, and management.

During the apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving:

  • AAT Certificate in Accounting at SCQF Level 6
  • International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) Qualification
  • Certificate in Excel and Word Advanced Courses

This role is ideal for an individual who is looking to start their accounting career as an apprentice within a dynamic and complex setting. The successful candidate will have an interest in working with numbers and spreadsheets and a willingness to learn new skills.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must have achieved either an SCQF Level 5 in accounting, or Higher Accountancy at A-C, or two Highers in other academic subjects A-C or equivalent SCQF level awards/qualifications OR have previous relevant work experience in a finance setting.

Working Arrangements

The working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours, and part-time staff will get a pro-rata reduction in their working hours without losing any earnings. Although the State Hospital will implement this change, it may not be possible to transition fully from 1 April. Therefore, there may be some areas in the organisation where implementation may take longer.
