Associate Traffic Director

We are seeking an experienced Associate Traffic Director to join our team at Marston Holdings, a leading multi-disciplinary design, engineering, and landscape architecture consultancy. As a key member of our Traffic Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects and services to our clients.

The Role and Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director of Traffic and Parking and Associate Directors to drive business plans and strategies.
  • Manage direct reports and lead multiple projects with diverse clients.
  • Work with Associate Directors to ensure the professional and financial performance of the Traffic Team and their projects.
  • Lead a team of senior engineers, engineers, and technicians/graduates and apprentices.
  • Oversee the preparation of brief responses, bids, proposals, and estimates for new work.
  • Identify and agree resources for current and new projects.
  • Provide CDM advice and act as Principal Designer where practical.
  • Contribute to the organic growth of the team, aiming for a 10% annual increase.
  • Guide project managers to deliver quality projects to customer requirements.
  • Provide technical direction, advice, and support to the team to resolve problems and enhance business/project performance.
  • Build relationships with clients and Project Centre staff across teams.
  • Act as account manager for key clients and work closely with the Regional Director to manage client accounts and deliver regional financial performance.
  • Recruit and develop staff to meet customer expectations and business growth plans.
  • Develop new service areas, such as business case preparation and broader transport policies for clients.
Person Specification
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic engineering, highways engineering, and/or parking and transportation planning.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of successfully managing and delivering projects.
  • Professional Membership MICE/MCILT/MIHT is desirable.
  • Qualification in project management is desirable.
