Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Cheltenham. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical products and systems
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to achieve project goals
  • Produce high-quality documentation and project reports
  • Update 3D models and drawings as needed
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
  • Check drawings for sign off
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
