We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Management Assistant to join our dynamic team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of our financial business.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Financial Management team in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
- Ensure all transactions and processes are in accordance with the Finance Department's internal procedures and timetable.
- Meet with assigned budget holders to review their financial reports.
- Conduct detailed investigations of variances, ascertaining reasons for the variances and reporting accordingly.
- Recommend improvements and changes to the Finance Process Improvement (Streamlining Group).
- Process Approval to Recruit (ATR) applications and record and code payroll forms.
- Generate timely budget reports from the computerised reporting system and distribute with nominal rolls to budget holders.
- Investigate and resolve queries received from budget managers/Finance Manager.
- Communicate to Finance Manager any material issues as required.
- IT literate, including advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Experience with General Ledger packages.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Accurate and timely work.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask from one task to another.
- Awareness of confidentiality.
- Hybrid way of working between home and on site (minimum 2 days on site per week).
- Minimum 5 O Levels/GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English).
- NVQ or Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Technician level or equivalent experience.
- Neat personal presentation.
- A team player.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Reliable and able to work under pressure.
- Able to maintain concentration through interruption.
