About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated researcher to join our team at the Kavli Institute for Cosmology, Cambridge. As a research fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in cosmology and astrophysics, collaborating with our team of experts to advance our understanding of the universe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research in cosmology and astrophysics, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: the cosmic microwave background and the early Universe; the formation and evolution of galaxies and of supermassive black holes; the epoch of cosmic reionization; evolution of the intergalactic medium; the nature of dark matter; large-scale structure and precision cosmology; and gravitational waves.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and presentations, and contribute to the Institute's public-engagement activities.
  • Assist with the supervision of graduate students and participate in collaborative work with members of the Kavli Institute.
Requirements
  • PhD in Astrophysics or a related field, or have submitted a PhD thesis by the start date of the fellowship.
  • Excellent communication and computing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary, either on the Research Associate scale (grade 7) or the Senior Research Associate scale (grade 9), depending on experience.
  • A research allowance of £10,000 per annum and a generous relocation package.
