Position Overview:

The role of the Medical Liaison in Oncology is pivotal in establishing and nurturing scientific partnerships within the healthcare community. This position is designed for a professional who is passionate about advancing oncology research and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Medical Lead in Oncology to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Engage in a home-based role with a travel commitment of approximately 50%.

Core Duties:

  • Organize and lead educational and training sessions for external stakeholders.
  • Support AbbVie's clinical trial initiatives and research programs.
  • Assist in the dissemination of clinical findings in alignment with AbbVie’s strategic goals.
  • Facilitate research activities, including the collection of real-world evidence and evaluation of Investigator Study Proposals.
  • Gather and share insights on medical and scientific trends, including competitor analysis and educational endeavors.
  • Coordinate advisory board meetings and round-table discussions with healthcare professionals to foster scientific dialogue.
  • Attend relevant scientific conferences to engage with key opinion leaders and enhance knowledge of the therapeutic landscape.
  • Contribute to the development of scientific reports and dossiers as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to summarize critical data and inform strategic priorities.
  • Provide recommendations for speakers at national and international conferences to promote scientific exchange.
  • Facilitate clinical and scientific training for sales teams and other relevant personnel.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A relevant advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical sector, particularly in Oncology, is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain expertise in the designated therapeutic area and medical research.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new subject matter and adapting to diverse environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of building collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to adhering to compliance standards and maintaining scientific integrity.
