Support Assistant for Behavioral Education

**Assisting individuals with mental health issues may involve working with those experiencing learning disabilities, personality disorders, forensic mental health issues, and severe mental illnesses. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional therapeutic support through educational initiatives.**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing strong and trusting relationships with students.
  • Working with small groups or providing one-on-one support as needed.

  • Assessing the needs of children and young people under the guidance of the class teacher, utilizing specialized knowledge and skills to enhance learning both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Encouraging cooperative interaction among students and engaging all participants in activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (Essential).
  • Experience working with children and young people exhibiting challenging behaviors and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH) is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications such as Team-Teach or relevant certifications (e.g., PROACT-SCIP/MAPA) are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A flexible and understanding demeanor is crucial, along with being proactive, empathetic, engaging, and creative.
  • Ability to remain patient, engaging, and composed under pressure.
  • Willingness to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Willingness to register with the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS).
