Job Title: Senior Orthoptist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Orthoptist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, providing high-quality care to patients with complex eye conditions.

As a Senior Orthoptist, you will be responsible for undertaking the investigation, diagnosis, and management of patients referred to the Orthoptic Department at Bristol Eye Hospital and Weston General Hospital.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of complex cases, including paediatric, motility, neurology, adnexal, and Accident and Emergency referrals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake the investigation, diagnosis, and management of patients referred to the Orthoptic Department
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the needs of patients
  • Contribute to the clinical training of Orthoptic undergraduates and other medical, optometry, and nursing staff or students
Requirements:
  • Relevant Orthoptic experience in acute and community settings
  • Competence in the use of a variety of visual field analysers and interpretation of results
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
