About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Nurse/Midwife to join our dynamic team at the Neonatal Service at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

The successful candidate will work as a shift lead, supporting the Band 5 Nurse/Midwife on shift and participating in shifts over a 24-hour rota.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, safe, and family-integrated care to infants and their families.
  • Manage the unit as a shift leader, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Provide individualized care, delivering special/high dependency care and short-term intensive care for sick and preterm newborns over 32 weeks gestation.
  • Collaborate with Maternity staff to care for babies requiring Transitional care on the Maternity ward.

Requirements
  • NMC registration as Midwife/Nurse.
  • QIS and Degree qualifications.
  • Leadership course and Management training.
  • Extensive knowledge of neonatal nursing and ability to manage the unit as a shift leader.
