Rheumatology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rheumatology Consultant to join our team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Specialist Medicine Directorate, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality Rheumatology services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical care to patients with rheumatic diseases, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and lupus.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols for Rheumatology services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the planning and organization of Rheumatology services.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals in the Rheumatology department.
- Engage in research and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent qualifications.
- Specialist registration with the General Medical Council and licensed to practice.
- Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT in Rheumatology at time of interview).
- Postgraduate qualification (PHD or MD) equivalent.
- Experience of audits and quality improvement projects.
- Publications in recognized medical and rheumatology journals.
