Company Overview:
We are a Private Equity Backed business located in Exeter, seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team. As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Management Accounts and providing accompanying commentary and analysis to support key decision-making throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Financial Controller and key department heads to produce the Monthly Management Accounts.
- Leading on the preparation of monthly management accounts with an objective of WD4, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information.
- Taking responsibility for the analysis of variances between actual financial results and budgeted figures, providing full commentary explanations and insights to management.
- Undertaking Statutory HMRC Submissions for Quarterly VAT and Monthly PAYE.
- Conducting in-depth analysis of costs and expenses, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Assisting with the development of annual budgets and forecasts, whilst reviewing actual performance.
- Implementing and maintaining strong financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing, evaluating, and improving accounting processes and procedures.
- Preparing comprehensive management reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
- Presenting financial information to the senior management team and providing data insights.
- Preparing and presenting Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations identifying strengths, weaknesses, areas for improvement, and risks.
- Working closely with other departments to provide financial support and insights for decision-making.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with external and internal stakeholders.
- Providing support and guidance to the finance team, including mentoring and coaching team members.
Requirements:
- Must have experience in a Management Accountant role or have held a role such as a Finance Analyst, Finance Business Partner, or Finance Manager, with responsibility for managing the end-to-end management accounts process.
- Ideally Fully CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficient with MS Excel to an intermediate to advanced level.
