Job Role

Coventry City Council's fostering service is seeking dedicated individuals to provide care and support for vulnerable children and young people in their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a nurturing environment for children and young people with complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with a small team of professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Support children and young people in achieving their goals and aspirations
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive foster care community
Requirements
  • At least 2 years experience of caring for or working with young people with challenging behaviors
  • No other under 18-year olds living in the household
  • One carer in the household will be home-based full-time
  • Insight and understanding of trauma, abuse, neglect, and potentially autism and/or mental health issues
  • Ability to work positively with others as part of a wider team of professionals
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and implement new approaches
  • High level of empathy
  • Commitment and motivation to care for a young person who may have had multiple placement breakdowns
  • Resilience
