About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Nursery Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting healthy, nutritious meals for our children, ensuring their dietary needs are met and promoting a positive eating culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for children, adhering to food safety guidelines and minimizing waste
  • Manage and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external standards
  • Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating and nutrition
  • Support nursery activities, such as BBQs and fetes, and participate in staff meetings
  • Manage stock levels and record keeping, in line with company procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team and parents to promote healthy eating and nutrition
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding
Requirements
  • Previous experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - must be passed on day 1 in post
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents
  • Ability to work under pressure
