As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting healthy, nutritious meals for our children, ensuring their dietary needs are met and promoting a positive eating culture.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals for children, adhering to food safety guidelines and minimizing waste
- Manage and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external standards
- Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating and nutrition
- Support nursery activities, such as BBQs and fetes, and participate in staff meetings
- Manage stock levels and record keeping, in line with company procedures
- Work collaboratively with the nursery team and parents to promote healthy eating and nutrition
- Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding
- Previous experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting
- Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - must be passed on day 1 in post
- Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents
- Ability to work under pressure
