Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to work within its Trade Compliance Function to support the management of all aspects of UK Export Control and Compliance and, as required, the export regulations of other countries, such as the US, as they relate to Leonardo's business operations in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert advice and guidance to individuals and managers at all levels within the Edinburgh business to ensure compliance with UK and foreign import / export laws, including the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) re-exports and re-transfers, as well as conforming with internal corporate policies and procedures.
- Work with the Edinburgh business to understand Business Winning aspirations and ensure that trade compliance aspects are considered at an early stage, export licencing issues are dealt with in a timely manner, and that project teams create and maintain plans which address Trade Compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with Project Teams to ensure Control List Classification (CLC)/Export Control Ratings and Customs Classifications are correct to support compliance with UK Export and customs regulations.
- Work with Project Teams and functions to ensure that plans to ensure that Export Control and Trade Compliance aspects of Equipment and Technology (including data and software) are properly managed and in compliance with UK and Foreign export authorisations.
- Deliver Export Control and Trade Compliance training to ensure the Edinburgh business and functions are briefed on and aware of Trade Compliance matters relevant to their projects.
- Lead the site Trade Compliance team to ensure full compliance with UK export licences and other UK authorisations, as well as all relevant Foreign Export licence conditions.
- Assist drafting General Correspondence requests/Retransfer requests under different jurisdictions, as applicable, and keeping relevant audit trail.
- Initiate internal Trade Compliance assessments, preparation of reports including draft Voluntary Disclosures for approval by Head of Trade Compliance - Electronics.
- Preparing for and supporting internal/external audits relating to Export Control and Trade Compliance matters.
- Experienced export control/trade compliance practitioner with detailed knowledge of UK Export Licencing, including Trade Controls, good working knowledge of foreign import / export regulations, particularly EU Member States and the US ITAR and US EAR, including US ITAR Agreements and General Correspondence / Retransfer requests under US and other export control regulations, good working knowledge of UK/EU Customs regulations.
- Excellent written skills.
- Strong interpersonal/influencing skills to support decision-making based on credible knowledge of International Trade.
- Presentation skills in order to deliver training.
- Good all round computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.
