Overview

The Engineering division is responsible for establishing the specifications and technical skills necessary for the effective management, renewal, and enhancement of the railway infrastructure, ensuring it meets the operational performance standards required by the organization. The focus is on making engineering choices that are economically viable while fulfilling the demands of both the customer and the business, aligned with Network Rail's commitment to engineering excellence in the UK's railway system.

Role Responsibilities

As an Assistant Signal & Telecoms Maintenance Engineer, you will oversee and guide the Technical Support Team, delivering production, performance, assurance, technical, analytical, and data quality assistance to the Maintenance Engineering group.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the Technical Support Team to meet business objectives and performance indicators.
  • Facilitating the professional development of team members and ensuring their safety and competency.
  • Conducting a structured program of surveillance, quality assessments, and asset condition evaluations.
  • Monitoring asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency while providing technical support for survey and design initiatives.
  • Managing the assurance and compliance processes, performing technical inspections, and coordinating track monitoring operations.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of systems, databases, and records, as well as reviewing and approving method statements and plans for design and operational activities.
