About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team at Crowne Plaza Reading. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist colleagues and other members of staff to create a positive and productive team environment.
  • Be aware of the facilities available to guests within the hotel, including the leisure club and spa.
  • Assist with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
  • Clean and sanitize all food preparation areas and staff canteen according to established standards of hygiene.
  • Sort, store, and distribute ingredients.

Requirements

  • The ability to adhere to the company's rules and regulations on policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Flexibility in your approach, and the ability to assist the Sous Chef and any other members when required.
  • A team player who thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen department.
  • Someone who is passionate about food and willing to learn.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., cleaner, porter).
