OVERVIEW
Avantia Law is excited to announce the launch of its Avantia Academy, a unique initiative aimed at nurturing talented and entrepreneurial graduates. This program is designed to provide an intensive training experience, focusing on essential legal competencies such as drafting, commercial awareness, and various other critical legal skills. Currently in its Beta Stage, the Avantia Academy will host a one-day event that resembles an assessment center but is structured to be more informative, relaxed, and enjoyable. Exceptional graduates from this program will have the opportunity to be considered for positions as junior legal staff at Avantia Law.
The Avantia Academy is now open for applications for its third cohort, offering a total of sixteen places and four specific roles:
- Document Review Paralegal
- Funds Paralegal (2 positions)
- KYC Operations Assistant
Graduates who successfully complete the program but are not immediately selected for the available roles may still be considered for future openings. Many participants from previous cohorts have received offers shortly after their assessment day. In fact, half of the attendees from the last Academy were hired by Avantia Law within weeks of completion.

Founded in 2019, Avantia Law adopts a modern approach to legal services, blending legal technology and alternative service provision. The firm specializes in document review, KYC/AML compliance, and funds services, offering a comprehensive legal solution.
Avantia Law employs an innovative billing model that charges clients based on the work product rather than hourly rates, promoting efficiency and a healthier work environment for its legal professionals. The firm leverages AI technology to streamline routine processes, having previously collaborated with Oxford University on machine learning projects and being part of Allen & Overy's FUSE Cohort. Avantia Law distinguishes itself in the alternative legal service provider market by delivering premium, centrally managed work that exceeds the standards of typical outsourced legal services.

AVAILABLE ROLES
1) Document Review Paralegal – Paralegals in this role will engage with standard legal documents, including non-disclosure agreements and engagement letters. They will receive guidance from experienced lawyers, many of whom have backgrounds in prestigious law firms. Responsibilities include tracking document progress, drafting initial revisions, negotiating terms, and managing communications.
2) KYC Analyst – While we are not actively hiring for this position at the moment, it is frequently filled, and candidates may have the chance to join as KYC Analysts shortly after the Academy. The KYC team operates like detectives, identifying potential risks for clients before transactions are finalized.
3) Funds Paralegal – This is a new area of focus for Avantia, centered on limited partner transfers. Paralegals in this department will play a crucial role in shaping its future under the mentorship of a seasoned Funds lawyer.
4) KYC Operations Assistant – This role offers a unique opportunity for a junior professional to support the head of the KYC department in daily operations. Ideal candidates will possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to contribute to the department's growth.
COMPENSATION
Starting salaries for junior positions begin at £30,500, with numerous opportunities for advancement and professional development.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Paralegals are encouraged to work from the London office 2-3 times a week to foster collaboration and learning, though remote work options are available. Attendance at all-hands meetings or training sessions may occasionally be required.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application process is streamlined to accommodate graduates, ensuring a fair and efficient evaluation of candidates. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all Academy positions are filled. The process includes:
- Submission of a CV.
- Completion of a screening assessment designed to evaluate legal aptitude.
- Potential invitation to submit a cover letter for those who pass the screening.
- Completion of a longer NDA and KYC assessment.
- Possible phone screening for further clarification.
- Invitation to participate in the Academy program.
Successful candidates will receive timely feedback, and all applicants will be informed of their status post-assessment.
