Position Overview

As a Pensions Management Trainee at Dalriada Trustees Limited, you will collaborate with our dedicated team to formulate a personalized development strategy aimed at enhancing your skills within the organization and the broader industry. In your role, you will support our Pensions Management teams by engaging in a variety of tasks within the pensions sector, providing technical assistance to Trustees and Sponsoring Employers of pension schemes. This role offers the chance to refine your technical skills and develop essential competencies in pensions management while navigating a dynamic environment within a rapidly expanding and innovative pension consulting firm. You will interact with colleagues across different office locations and work with clients from a wide array of industries.

As a Pensions Management Trainee, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a client service that is proactive, timely, and fully aligned with client needs, thereby upholding the esteemed reputation established by our exceptional team.
  • Utilizing your creativity and analytical skills to devise customized solutions for unique challenges.
  • Exhibiting outstanding communication abilities through regular engagement with clients.
  • Receiving training on our proprietary software, Mantle, to evaluate and develop suitable solutions that address client requirements.
  • Participating in various projects, including scheme wind-ups, member pension benefit calculations, and conducting forensic research for schemes appointed by regulatory bodies.
  • Preparing reports and presentations to assist clients in their decision-making processes regarding pension scheme management.
  • Acting as a primary contact for members and clients, addressing a range of inquiries via phone and written communication, and providing clear and accurate information to members and beneficiaries.
  • Meeting financial targets and standards, including time recording, budget oversight, billing, and other financial management aspects.
  • Collaborating with and supporting senior colleagues to enhance your skills and knowledge across our service offerings by fulfilling client needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least five GCSEs, including Mathematics and English at Grade A or above.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, with a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively to complete tasks.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in the industry and the environment in which we operate.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous work experience or placement in a professional services setting.
