We prioritize physical pest and weed control methods, avoiding toxic chemicals entirely, and strive to utilize organic, sustainable, and locally sourced materials whenever possible.
Founded by Ryan, an RHS trained horticulturist with a decade of experience in premier domestic and commercial gardens, Botanically Ryan offers a variety of services including garden maintenance, planting design and installation, garden clearance, lawn care, and eco-friendly pest control. Our team consists of passionate individuals who share a love for gardening and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, optimize, and expand the Maintenance Team, including potential recruitment.
- Foster strong relationships with clients.
- Implement eco-friendly garden maintenance practices while ensuring year-round appeal for clients.
- Collaborate with Ryan to develop seasonal planting offers, including bedding and bulbs.
- Work alongside Ryan to create innovative ideas and upsell opportunities for clients.
- Ensure the maintenance team is equipped with the necessary training, tools, and processes to deliver high-quality service.
- Exemplify and promote the values of Botanically Ryan through professional leadership and communication.
- Manage the collection and delivery of plants and materials for clients.
- Oversee the upkeep of a Botanically Ryan electric vehicle, ensuring it is regularly charged and maintained.
- Maintain responsibility for all tools and equipment stored in the vehicle and the lock-up.
- Provide line management for an assistant.
Performance Expectations
The ideal candidate will excel in all aspects of maintenance at Botanically Ryan, enhancing client relationships through exceptional service in eco-friendly gardening. They will develop expertise in individual client gardens, utilizing horticultural knowledge to cultivate gardens, ensure year-round interest, and collaborate with Ryan to offer additional services throughout the year. They will guarantee that the maintenance team is well-equipped with the right training, tools, and processes to deliver outstanding service.
Career Growth Opportunities
Botanically Ryan is poised for growth in both maintenance and design sectors. The anticipated progression for this role includes the opportunity to advance to Head of Maintenance, assuming full responsibility for the maintenance teams as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
- Preferred Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent experience (2-3 years+).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Possession of a full and clean driving license.
