Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide vital support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs within our primary school setting. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young learners who require specialized guidance and encouragement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, assisting them in their academic progress and personal development.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and social interaction.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and other professionals to implement tailored educational plans and interventions.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to create a safe and structured learning space.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or support worker, preferably within a setting that caters to students with SEMH needs.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to their holistic development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards students' needs.

Desired Qualifications

  • Team Teach qualification or equivalent training in behavior management.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for occasional travel between sites.
