Age UK Plymouth is a prominent and esteemed charitable organization dedicated to supporting older individuals and their caregivers in the Plymouth area. The organization provides a variety of services aimed at empowering and assisting individuals to lead fulfilling and active lives in their later years.

With a commitment to combatting social isolation, Age UK Plymouth organizes numerous regular activities and special events designed to foster community inclusion. Their information and advice service collaborates with various organizations and charities to enhance the quality of life for older adults.

In partnership with Livewell Southwest, Age UK Plymouth operates a 24-bed short-term Care Centre, offering transitional care from acute settings or preventing hospital admissions, thereby promoting independence before returning home.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborating with trustees and stakeholders to formulate and execute an ambitious strategic vision that empowers individuals aged 50 and above, along with their caregivers, to enjoy a fulfilling and independent later life.
  2. Creating a highly effective team and fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and the delivery of exceptional services.
  3. Designing a fundraising strategy to achieve established priorities and projects, while generating sustainable income streams and investments.
  4. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic organization eager to expand its influence and reach.

  1. Proven experience in a strategic leadership role with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  2. A strong sense of empathy and a genuine interest in supporting older adults, individuals living with dementia, and their caregivers.

  4. A visionary mindset coupled with a proactive approach.
  5. Experience in financial forecasting and reporting.
