Job Description

Our client, a reputable Local Government organization based in the UK, is seeking a skilled Litigation Solicitor to join their team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Local Authority setting and specifically within Criminal Litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling and advising on a variety of civil and criminal disputes, principally concerning land, property, or contracts
  • Carrying a caseload of both Claimant and Defendant matters, including covering Court work and hearings as required
  • Providing expert legal advice and representation in various civil disputes
  • Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documents, and providing case analysis
  • Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions when appropriate
  • Advising in respect of selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work
  • Conducting advocacy as required in relation to cases involving trading standards, environmental health, and licensing matters

Requirements:

  • Knowledge in Criminal Law
  • Local Government experience desirable
  • Must be qualified as a Solicitor

Working Hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
