About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Immunohistochemistry team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical and quality support to our laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the day-to-day operations of the Immunohistochemistry laboratory, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard and within the required timeframe.
  • Provide technical support to the senior scientist and other team members, ensuring that the laboratory is operating effectively and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols, ensuring that they are aligned with the latest scientific and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory teams to ensure seamless integration of services and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, ensuring that all laboratory procedures and protocols are compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • IBMS Accredited BSc Biomedical Science degree or equivalent.
  • Registration with the HCPC.
  • Specialist Portfolio.
  • Substantive post-registration experience of working in a Cellular Pathology laboratory.
  • Experience working in an Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
  • IT Literate, including use of Microsoft Word, data analysis, and use of a Laboratory Information Management System.
  • Knowledge of IHC techniques and their applications.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting IHC.
