Job Description

**Job Title:** Maintenance Team Lead

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment and machinery across our site, while supervising a team to achieve overall customer requirements and full compliance with company and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Supervise and Coordinate:** Supervise, control, and prioritize all service activities to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of plant equipment and machinery.
  • **Team Management:** Supervise staff to ensure compliance with company procedures, including the effective control of staff in accordance with the Company's disciplinary procedures, attendance at work, and Our Ways of Working.
  • **Communication and Reporting:** Perform daily briefings to the team, and supply regular written reports to the wider department.
  • **Resource Planning:** Assist in ensuring efficient and effective manpower and resource planning and control.
  • **Procurement:** Procure external services and spares as required.
  • **Contractor Management:** Manage Contractors in delivering services onsite and ensuring full compliance with relevant Site safety rules.
  • **Training and Competence:** Identify and review training and maintenance of staff competence.
  • **Breakdown Diagnostics:** Coordinate/support with breakdown diagnostics, repairs, and corrective maintenance.
  • **Maintenance Checks:** Perform maintenance checks and remedial repairs in line with processes.
  • **Engineering Stores:** Manage the engineering stores and identify gaps in criticality of provision.
  • **Data Collection and Reporting:** Contribute to the collection of Data and the generation of KPI reporting. Act as champion for the CMMS system.
Requirements:
  • **Effective Communication:** Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management at all levels (both written and verbal).
  • **Change Management:** Be an exemplar of communication, particularly through change.
  • **Pressure Management:** Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • **Technical Knowledge:** Ability to understand and follow specific drawings instructions and procedures.
  • **Fault Diagnosis:** Ability to diagnose faults on a wide range of engineering equipment, including electrical fixed wiring systems, PLC and drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, pumps, and mechanical drive systems.
  • **Health and Safety:** Practical knowledge of Key H&S legislation (e.g., HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, IEEE regulations).
  • **Qualifications:** Time served apprentice in an engineering subject, minimum HNC or equivalent, ILM Level 3 in supervisory management or equivalent experience, and WCM trained (or willing to be).
  • **Education:** Good general level of education.
