Our client is seeking a Corporation Tax Senior / Tax Assistant Manager to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Tax Manager in ensuring the tax department admin is up-to-date and routine admin is handled in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Tax Manager on processes and projects, developing involvement in supervision and training of the team.
  • Work with the Accounts team and Tax Manager to facilitate the review of complex corporate tax returns.
  • Contribute to delivering R&D tax savings to clients and assist in building up this area of the business.
  • Manage billing and WIP, understanding its importance within the firm.
  • Identify tax planning and cross-selling opportunities to pass on or deal with directly.
  • Support the Tax Manager and the wider senior tax team, including Senior Tax Manager and Tax Director.
  • Support non-Tax Managers and Directors.
  • Take ownership of assignments, maintaining quality of work while organizing and managing time efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage client budgets, keeping the Tax Manager informed of progress and potential problems.
  • Provide feedback on performance and development.
Requirements:
  • Experience in handling corporation tax, particularly concerning R&D.
  • Qualified ATT and/or CTA - minimum 4 years relevant tax experience.
  • No ATT Qualification - minimum 8 years relevant tax experience.
  • Experience with share options/incentives and Venture Capital Schemes (investor reliefs) is highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of inheritance tax and VAT.
  • Good understanding of income tax, capital gains tax, national insurance & PAYE, pension planning, corporation tax, and business tax.
  • Able to deal with HMRC tax enquiries with the Tax Manager's supervision.
  • Effective people management, coaching, and supervisory skills.
  • Awareness of relevant financial targets and constraints and contributes to achieving these.
