We are seeking a skilled History teacher to join our dynamic school community in Kingston upon Thames for a one-term placement. As a Cover Teacher for History, you will play a vital role in ensuring students continue their historical journey, fostering a love of learning and a deeper understanding of the past.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Craft Compelling Narratives: Design engaging lessons that follow the curriculum, but don't be afraid to weave your own narrative magic. Adapt your approach to cater to different learning styles and make history relatable.
  • Empower Young Historians: Encourage students to ask questions, analyze primary and secondary sources, and develop their critical thinking skills. Let them become active participants in shaping the historical narrative.
  • Bridge the Past to the Present: Help students connect the past to the present world, fostering a deeper understanding of current events and their role in shaping history.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with the History department and school leadership to ensure a smooth learning experience for all students.
Requirements:
  • A strong subject knowledge in History.
  • Holds a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent desirable).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for engaging students and making history come alive in the classroom.
