Position Overview

Join our dedicated team at SNAP Care as a SEN Care Assistant, providing essential support to a young individual with complex care needs.

Role Details

This is a part-time position that involves working with a vibrant young person who enjoys music, sensory activities, and swimming. The role offers competitive pay rates:

  • Weekdays: £14.05
  • Weekend Days: £15.05
  • Weekend Nights: £00 daily retainer when the client is at school.
Key Responsibilities

As a SEN Care Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 2:1 support during the day and 1:1 support during waking night shifts.
  • Assist with daily routines, including getting ready for school and participating in therapy and extracurricular activities.
  • Encourage independence and advocate for the client’s needs.
  • Engage in outdoor activities and plan trips during weekends and school holidays.
Essential Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with physical disabilities, either professionally or personally.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence in supporting clients during hydrotherapy or swimming sessions.
Client Overview

The individual you will be supporting is a cherished member of a loving family, requiring assistance with all health, care, and daily living needs. They communicate through body language, facial expressions, and sounds, and are currently exploring options to enhance their communication skills.

Work Environment

Our team operates on a rolling rota provided four weeks in advance, including a mix of day and night shifts. A staff room with kitchenette facilities is available for your convenience.

Training and Development

While experience in complex care is not mandatory, a genuine passion for supporting young individuals is essential. Comprehensive training will be provided, including person-centered rehabilitation therapy.
