The Corporate Services division provides essential support functions, including human resources, finance, and IT.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will serve as the foremost authority on refining strategy within the organization, delivering insights and strategic recommendations to the Finance Strategy & Planning team, the Refining President, and other key stakeholders. This role involves conducting comprehensive research on various factors influencing the organization's competitive stance in the refining sector, preparing detailed analyses for senior management and relevant committees. The candidate will assess technological innovations, geopolitical dynamics, sustainability initiatives, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends.
Furthermore, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the refining strategy, collaborating on business initiatives, translating them into actionable investment and resource plans, and spearheading strategic projects derived from thorough analyses.
Establishing robust relationships with internal experts, think tanks, and industry advisory groups will be crucial to remain informed about global developments in refining and related fields that impact business performance. Exceptional analytical capabilities, storytelling proficiency, and change management expertise are essential, with a preference for experience in Carbon Management and ESG reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the organization's leading expert in refining strategy, providing strategic guidance on business matters.
- Advise on refining business issues to the Finance Strategy & Planning team, the Refining President, and other members of management.
- Prepare in-depth research and analyses for senior management, committees, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams to define the overarching refining strategy and develop outlook scenarios.
- Contribute to the formulation of long-term strategic plans and resource allocation strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with experts to stay abreast of global industry developments.
- Conduct independent research on various topics that impact the organization's competitive edge.
- Lead or participate in strategic initiatives based on comprehensive analyses.
Qualifications:
- This position requires the selected candidate to relocate on a permanent basis.
- Possess a Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management, or related disciplines.
- Exhibit a commitment to continuous professional development through education, work experiences, seminars, networking, and training.
- Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in refining, chemicals, trading, and marketing, preferably within an international refining organization or an energy consulting firm, with at least 5 years dedicated to strategy development.
- Demonstrate strong English communication and storytelling skills, along with experience in change management.
