Job Summary

Isisekelo Recruitment is seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to oversee the kitchen operations and lead a team of culinary professionals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing kitchen staff, creating menus, and ensuring high-quality food production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our customers and align with our culinary vision.
  • Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating their performance.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of food, ensuring that it meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining accurate records of stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP procedures.
  • Monitor and control kitchen expenses, including labor costs, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Stay up-to-date with culinary trends and best practices, and implement new ideas and techniques in the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Head Sous Chef in a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong culinary skills, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP procedures.
