NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working closely with the Project Manager to ensure the successful execution of a diverse portfolio of electrical-focused projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Project Manager in the timely development and execution of multi-disciplinary projects with a primary focus on electrical engineering.
2. Engage in all phases of project execution, from initial definition through front-end engineering, HAZOP studies, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
3. Provide comprehensive project engineering support and maintain communication with all stakeholders affected by the project.
4. Manage modifications and changes in accordance with the management of change process, ensuring compliance with site standards and relevant legislation.
5. Analyze challenges and offer technical insights to facilitate effective and practical solutions.
6. Lead and support electrical design reviews and related studies.
7. Collaborate with the Engineering Technical Authority on issues and deviation requests, including the development of technical specifications.
8. Aid in project cost control, schedule management, and ensure efficient delivery of work scope.
9. Conduct audits and readiness reviews to confirm project compliance with delivery processes and key milestones.
10. Proactively manage stakeholder relationships, chair project meetings, and participate in essential forums.
11. Assist in the preparation of tenders and contribute to bid analysis for significant work packages.
12. Support the development of cost estimates and funding requests.
13. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project delivery model to achieve best-in-class standards.
14. Actively participate in safety and design reviews, as well as construction assessments.
15. Contribute to risk reviews and assessments to ensure project safety and compliance.
16. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), providing quality assurance for construction activities.
17. Support project completions with technical reviews and punch listing of modifications.
18. Serve as a visible safety advocate within the organization, promoting high standards and assisting in incident investigations as necessary.
19. Lead project completions, including all associated documentation such as completion records.
20. Represent the company to site visitors, contractors, and suppliers as required.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably Chartered or working towards it).
- Strong project engineering and technical background in electrical engineering.
- Proven experience in managing and delivering small to medium-scale multi-disciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of LV/HV electrical switchgear systems.
- Engineering and maintenance experience in regulated industries such as Oil & Gas or Petro-Chemical.
- Understanding of various engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, and Asset Integrity.
- Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, including Electricity at Work Regulations and ATEX/DSEAR.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Adaptable and flexible with a positive approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience.
- Strong time management and workload prioritization skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
