If you have experience in assisting individuals with learning disabilities in both home and community settings, we invite you to consider joining our team as a Personal Support Worker.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a kind-hearted and experienced individual to provide support to a young adult with unique needs. This individual enjoys outings in a vehicle and exploring natural environments. We aim to incorporate various activities into his routine, particularly in sensory-friendly spaces that cater to his requirements.
He also appreciates visits to local cafés and trips to the seaside. Increased community engagement would greatly benefit him. While he can walk short distances, he may require a wheelchair for comfort and safety.
The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of care, learning to identify and respond to the individual's needs effectively. Your role will involve offering guidance, support, reassurance, and supervision to ensure safety both at home and in the community.
It is important to recognize that he may feel overwhelmed in crowded environments and by certain sensory stimuli. You will develop strategies to mitigate these triggers.
This position involves working collaboratively as part of a team, primarily on a 2:1 basis, with occasional 1:1 support.
Physical fitness is essential for this role.
Note: Candidates must have the right to work in the U.K. and possess an up-to-date DBS at the time of employment commencement.
