Join Venture Up in Oxford and be part of an exciting and innovative Hedge Fund team. We are seeking a skilled Network and Linux Infrastructure Engineer to work closely with our quantitative researchers and software engineers to build and support systematic trading models.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement scalable, robust, and well-thought-out engineering solutions for our network and Linux infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of network and routing protocols (TCP/IP, LACP, MLAG, OSPF, and BGP).
- Administer and secure enterprise-class networking platforms (Arista, Cisco - IOS, Nexus).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and Linux issues, including packet-level traffic analysis.
- Design and implement high availability systems and networks.
- Develop advanced programming and scripting skills for automation using Ansible, Python, and Bash.
- Hands-on experience with data center and service provider networks.
- Experience implementing, operating, and supporting open-source tools for network and systems monitoring on Linux platforms (Zabbix).
- Experience with PostgreSQL for databases.
