Customs Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Manager to join our team at Lidl GB. As a key member of our import operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant importation of goods into the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delegation and workload management.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of the customs classification and audit team.
- Oversee the customs classification and audit process to guarantee accurate and compliant importation of goods.
- Provide expert advice on customs classification procedures and post-clearance audit outcomes.
- Design and maintain import data reports and dashboards to inform business decisions.
- Analyse customs classification and audit data to identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Strong knowledge and experience in customs classification, including HS codes, GIRs, and import controls.
- Detailed understanding of customs import data and post-clearance audits.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 4+ Diploma in International Trade, or other applicable customs and trade certifications.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and build informative dashboards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
