VGC Group is seeking skilled Reinforcement Steel Specialists to contribute to a significant project in Plymouth. This opportunity offers a long-term contract for qualified candidates.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting construction blueprints and specifications to assess the necessary type, quantity, and arrangement of rebar.
- Utilizing cutting and bending tools to shape steel bars and mesh as required.
- Constructing rebar cages and mats in accordance with project specifications.
- Securing rebar within concrete forms using appropriate methods.
- Ensuring correct positioning and spacing of rebar with the use of spacers and chairs.
- Tying rebar together to establish a robust reinforcement framework.
- Conducting inspections of rebar installations to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
- Identifying and rectifying any discrepancies in the reinforcement layout.
- Adhering to safety protocols and utilizing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
This role offers a competitive hourly wage of £21.39, along with holiday entitlement and eligibility for the VGC pension scheme after meeting specific criteria.
